The Technical Support Representative is responsible for providing technical support both internally and to our customers. This individual shall maintain and promote company quality objectives in all activities associated with the conduct of company business.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
· Provide Engineered Systems Distributors and the Security Equipment Distributors technical support and assistance on installation/service/applications capabilities of Fire Alarm product lines.
· Provide Field Factory Support with on-site technical support when required by Distributors. Travel may be required.
· Provide internet/e-mail support as required.
· Provide Technical Support to other company departments as requested.
· Interface with Engineering, Manufacturing, Technical Publishing and Customer Service insuring customers receive up-to-date technical information in response to inquiries.
· Assist in the technical documentation review of all products PID's, Data Sheets and literature when asked from Technical Publications, Product Managers, or Marketing when requested.
· Keep abreast of NFPA, UL, MEA, FM, IND, and other approvals agency guidelines and listings by means of Code training seminars or on line review from approvals agency websites.
· Identify system and component failure or program trends and relay information to appropriate departments.
· Provide product assistance (Technical or Physical) at trade shows, training presentations or marketing presentations as requested.
· Attend T.E.A.M. meeting with Engineers and training Dept once a quarter to be informed on product and software changes.
· Help out in the Training classroom during daily 'lab periods' to assist Technical Trainers and get to know ESD's
· Perform other duties as directed by supervisor.
Basic Qualifications:
Associate Degree in Electronics or Certificate in Electronics from a trade school
Bilingual Spanish/English (fluent in reading, writing and speaking both languages)
Working knowledge of computers including: MS-DOS, WINDOWS 3.x, 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000 and XP operating systems and computer peripherals
Minimum of 1 year experience in troubleshooting or repair of wiring/electronic equipment
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Additional Qualifications:
Work experience in a related Fire or Security field is desired
Technical/help desk experience highly preferred
Require the ability to obtain a NICET certification at Level 2 in Fire Alarm Systems within 5 years
