A Lead Software Engineer's responsibilities are many and varied; including technical oversight, contributing to project planning, mentoring of less experienced engineers, exhibiting discipline in software development, and the design and development of embedded software for the automotive environment. A Lead Software Engineer interfaces with software project managers, developers, validation, hardware, management, and the customer.A Lead Software Engineer will have 3-8 years of software development experience minimum and a background in real time embedded systems. It is strongly desired that a person will have automotive industry and technical leadership experience. A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science is required. Demonstrated technical experience and skilled in verbal and written communications, customer interaction, as well as an understanding of the CMMI is required.
