Please APPLY TODAY! jOB DESCRIPTION: The incumbent will be responsible for providing electrical systems leadership and assume responsibility for the overall design, development, and validation of marine imaging and positioning products. You will also manage the definition and development of marine seismic systems. Job duties to include the following: Designing of new products from conception through testing, manufacturing, documentation, and in-field support. Ability to analyze complex engineering development requirements in specific engineering disciplines. Defining system level design proposals describing complete technical architectures and solutions. Creating detailed written technical design specifications. Working with Project Managers to complete creation of system specifications and development of approximate project implementation timelines. Functioning as technical consultant to Lead Engineers and engineering resources required to design and implement project deliverables. Maintaining and expanding system engineering knowledge for specific assigned product line(s). Expertise for a particular engineering discipline is developed over time and leveraged for problem solving, and / or new development. May also require the technical and supervisory leadership of a small team of EEs. Specific skills/experience that the candidate must have are as follows: Must possess a broad range of system level design skills including digital and analog design, power distribution, interconnect and cabling design, sensor interface, embedded computing, and electromechanical design including board level circuit design experience. The emphasis in this position is product level electrical design for marine seismic systems. Comprehensive knowledge and experience in electronic system hardware, software, communication, and data acquisition systems. Excellent technical problem solving skills with a demonstrated ability to produce practical design solutions. Detailed knowledge of and experience in digital architectures and design utilizing microprocessors, FPGA's, CPLD's, and power supply components, with the experience to take the design from concept, specification and through supervision of coding, simulation and synthesis to hardware integration. Detailed knowledge of and experience in digital telemetry transmission design and protocols; both copper and fiber. Detailed knowledge of and experience in analog signal conditioning design for communication and data acquisition systems. A solid understanding of Digital Communication theory and Digital Signal Processing. Knowledge of and experience in assembly language and C, C++ programming. Demonstrated computer simulation skills using Spice, MATLAB, LabVIEW, C/C++, and/or equivalent. Self motivated individual with detailed knowledge and experience in digital and analog design procedures and implementation ranging from sub assemblies through the system level design. Design for manufacturability, testability and knowledge of electronics packaging techniques. Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Must be able to occasionally travel and/or work in the field, including an infrequent test on a seismic vessel. Strong technical writing skills for developing technical design specifications. Superior communication and interpersonal skills. BS in Electrical Engineering with 8 years of related experience and a systems engineering perspective. Possess a strong combination of systems engineering and hands-on detailed design skills. Prior experience developing electrical architecture for new products. Technical leadership of projects. Experience at board level circuit design. Seasoned troubleshooting / debugging skills with the ability to test digital modules and embedded systems utilizing standard test equipment such as oscilloscopes, emulators, and logic analyzers. Individual must be self-managed and able to function effectively as part of a medium sized development team. MS in Electrical Engineering, preferred. Experience with tools for system modeling, simulation, analysis, and verification (i.e. MATLAB/Simulink, Caliber, LabVIEW, dSpace or equivalent). Transmission line theory and practice for communication systems. Seismic industry or underwater acoustic experience a plus. Towed array sonar experience a plus. Experience in an ISO9000 process controlled product development and manufacturing environment preferred. ***Candidate will be offered a competitive salary and a complete benefits package!
