Electrical/Electronic Engineer

Quantum Controls, Inc., in Chanhassen, MN is looking for an electrical/electronic engineer to design motor controls and other embedded systems.  Qualifications preferred include 3+ years experience designing power electronics, DC and AD drives, electronically commutated motors, industrial servo drives, and experience with brush and brushless motor control design.  Additionally, the candidate must have experience designing with various microcontrollers and DSP's.  While the primary focus is design of complex motor controls, other embedded control design is also required.

Requirements/Qualifications

* Bachelor Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering

* Relevant experience in hardware design particularly involving power     electronics and digital hardware

* Knowledge of power conversion/motor drive principles, topologies and technologies

* Self motivation, initiative and drive

* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

* Ability to create and analyze design documentation

* Excellent mathematical and analytical skills

* Familiar with ISO standards

Preferred Qualifications

* Microcontroller programming in C and or Assembly (ARM, Freescale, TI)

* Design and development of power electronics as part of variable speed motor and integrated control of Brush type and Brushless Motors

* Perform advance engineering of inverter technologies and algorithms as applied to variable speed drives including: conceptual design, prototype testing, algorithm development, and performance and cost tradeoff analysis

* Extensive design experience with embedded controls, power supply, digital and analog circuits

* PCB layout experience, including SMT and through-hole components (Altium or similar)
