Director of Tax Compliance - International Position

POSITION

Director of Tax Compliance – reports to Global Tax Director

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Ÿ  Manage and control world-wide tax compliance activities of the company with respect to all of the company’s global presence;

Ÿ  Formulation of the Company’s International tax compliance strategies and policies and ensure them in accordance with the tax law’s requirement;

Ÿ  Work with finance team and global tax team to ensure global tax filing, reporting and accounting compliance in each legal entity;

Ÿ  Direct and monitor tax audit activities and uncertain tax position, and manages audit risk;

Ÿ  Communicate with regional and local tax personnel regarding the complicated tax issues in terms of impact on business operations and financial reporting.

Ÿ  Work closely with internal and external auditors to ensure successful compliance of tax internal controls;

Ÿ  Manages external consultant resources and determines appropriateness and scope of use of outside advisors and manages their efforts;

Ÿ  Keep good relationship with tax authorities and build up good tax public relation image for the company;

Ÿ  Cooperate with external resources on developing and implementing global compliance management IT system.

 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate will be hands on, knowledgeable, fact based and fact driven, have the ability to work independently, yet be able to communicate cross functionally within the organization.  He/she will be analytical, a self-starter, dependable, committed to meeting deadlines, able to prioritize and see the “Big Pictureâ€� but be able to drill down to the details.  The successful candidate will have strong technical knowledge of international tax issues, VAT and transfer pricing issues, and the ability to do research domestically and internationally.

 

MINIMUM TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ÿ  Strong knowledge of international accounting standards and tax regulation

Ÿ  Strong analytical skills and aptitude for working with financial data

Ÿ  Strong communication skills with Mandarin and English

Ÿ  Good problem solving skill, need to balance the tax compliance and business development limitation

 

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Ÿ  BS in Accounting or Economics

Ÿ  ACCA, CFA, or AICPA is preferred

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

l 5+ years of experience as a senior tax manager in Accounting Firms, preferably with Big 4 or 5+ years experience as the international tax manager in Multinational Electronics Manufacturing Corporation, telecommunication equipment provider is preferred.

 

LANGUAGE

Ÿ  Fluent in Mandarin is preferred
