Job Description
**This position is located in Atlanta, Ga**

The FIRETHORN/QUALCOMM mobile commerce initiative offers platform based wireless managed services to financial institutions, card issuers, and wireless carriers globally. These applications will be offered through an electronic wallet on the mobile device that includes account management, bill payment, remote payments, proximity payments and merchant services such as loyalty programs, couponing, and commerce opportunities. By offering a single platform that connects the wireless carrier to financial institutions and retailers, Firethorn/Qualcomm expects to reduce the costs and risks of mobile commerce while accelerating market development maximizing the revenue growth opportunity.

The Director of Retail and Merchant Services will report to the Vice President of Retail and Merchant Services and will be responsible to assist in the development and execution of the m-Commerce business plan for Retail and Merchant Service opportunities, including:

This individual must have strong leadership skills in order to develop and execute a merchant services strategy for Firethorn/Qualcomm which includes identifying key business relationships, developing and managing strong retailer partnerships, having the ability to communicate a vision of mobile commerce services and capable of influencing others.

This position must be able to develop a merchant services business plan, assist in execution of that plan, receive and provide direction as needed, and make appropriate decisions necessary to achieve expected results.

Responsible for assisting Business Development in defining and developing the merchant services eco-system required to enable wide distribution of mobile commerce services to consumers through key retail and merchant partner relationships.

Responsible for developing, growing and maintaining partnerships with these merchants as new mobile commerce products and services are launched.

Responsible for components of executing the business plan including: business requirements definition, relationship building, sales & contract negotiation, account management and vendor support. May participate in coordination of various activities of the virtual account team including legal, technical, financial, engineering and product management specialists.

Responsible to assist the VP as needed in directing product management in the identification and prioritization of product/feature definition and requirements in accordance with the merchant services business plan.

Responsible for managing, coaching and development of direct reports as and when required.


Skills/Experience
Eight plus years business experience in business development and operations in the retail industry which includes partnering with retailers or other merchant service providers.

Experience with merchant services business and customary practices.

Experience in developing business solutions or leading in a start up operation.

Experience in building, managing and leading high potential teams.

Leadership skills to provide direction to the management and professional staff within and outside the organization.

Excellent negotiation and writing skills.


Additional Skills
Expertise in the retail industry, internet commerce, the wireless industry, or other aspects of payment or banking industries

Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field required. Master's degree in Business Administration preferred.
