Director Business Development

 

Purpose:

 

We are seeking a highly skilled senior business development professional who will be responsible for overall lead and prospect development activities across the firm.

 

This position will combine skill and experience from the professional service consulting world along with at least a working knowledge of the OEM electronics space. The successful candidate will bring a strong set of business/personal relationships with “C” level executives as well as the VP/SVP of Operations among our target list of customers.   To be successful in this role, you will have broad experience across the entire sales cycle, including customer facing skills and the knowledge and ability to describe and sell the end consulting and ongoing management activities of the firm.

 

The target customer base is primarily small to medium size OEM’s who manufacture hardware products with revenue in the range of 50 – 500m.

 

The role will work collaboratively with a dynamic and creative team to provide overall account leadership and support.



 

Principle Accountabilities:

  Responsible for lead development and initial customer entry

  Development and management  of “pipeline” activities

  Project planning and establishment of industry target profiles

  Market segmentation analysis across the following areas: telecommunications; medical devices; industrial equipment; computing and networking devices and consumer electronics

  Development of lead and sales reporting process that gives visibility to the customer engagement group, finance and senior management.

   Prepares presentations for management, client or others.

  Reviewing project pricing and quoting and negotiating.

 

 

 

Requirements:

The qualified candidate will have:

  7-10 years of experience in business development and or sales and marketing. Prior experience doing business development/sales work for a contract manufacture is highly desirable. Prior experience with a professional services consulting organization is required.  Further experience and or familiarity with the OEM electronics market is desired, with familiarity with experienced working with cross-functional teams of engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, product management and finance to drive towards desired results. Must have strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with external and internal “customers” and “partners”. Solid project planning/execution skills and good overall problem-solving skills.  BA/BS Degree in Business/Engineering or related field or equivalent experience. Travel as required Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

 

Compensation will be based on experience with a significant commission component.
