Development Engineer Senior

Education Desired: B.S. or Associate’s degree with equivalent experience, preferred degree in EE, Electronics or Physics.

Essential Job Functions: Establishing a test capability and building an infrastructure for testing of high power / high voltage devices. Responsibility for DC and dynamic characterization of devices at the wafer and package levels. Responsibility for the development of test and characterization procedures. Responsibility for board level design and fabrication. Responsibility includes performance reliability testing at elevated temperatures. Responsibility includes identifying and purchasing the test equipment and circuitry required for building a power test lab capability. Breadboard level design and troubleshooting of DC-DC and DC-AC power processors.

Experience Desired: Minimum 5 years hands-on experience with testing, building, and integration of power test setups and power modules. Experience with wide band gar (WBG) devices such as Silicon Carbide (SiC) and Gallium Nitride (GaN) is highly desirable.

Knowledge Desired: Familiar with motor drive electronics and DC/DC power converters. Familiarity with programming languages (C/C++, MATLAB, LabView)for equipment control, device testing, and data analysis of power devices is preferred. Semiconductor device background desirable. Good communication skills.

Essential Physical/ Mental Requirements: Work in development laboratory environment will be required. Self-starter, work with minimal supervision is required. Work with high-voltage equipment is necessary.
