Design Engineer / FES1996

Position Description:This engineer will perform RF/microwave design of Skyworks front end products with an emphasis on PA and/or RF Switch IC design. The ideal candidate will have direct experience designing PA and/or RF switches and developing handset front end modules which use these ICs. Candidate will work closely with systems and Front End Module design engineers, and will interface across functional and departmental boundaries to ensure that product development goals are successfully met.• PA and/or switch architecture definition and specification• Simulation and physical layout of circuits• LVS, DRC, and parasitic extraction• Test specification definition and documentation. • Travel to customer locations will periodically be required.Qualifications:• Must have a solid understanding of critical PA and/or RF switch performance parameters such as linearity, harmonics, insertion loss, isolation, stability, leakage, and switching-speed.• IC design experience is essential. Design experience within GaAs HBT, PHEMT and CMOS is highly desired. • IC layout experience including LVS/DRC is desirable.• Must understand switch control/biasing techniques, and associated performance tradeoffs.• Must be adept at performing non-linear RF simulations using tools such as ADS harmonic balance, or Cadence Spectre.• Experience using Momentum, Sonnet, or HFSS is desirable.• Hands-on experience integrating RF switches with power amplifiers and antenna switch modules is highly desired.• Candidate may perform verification testing of their designs. A hands on perspective and understanding of RF test equipment is required.• Candidate must have good organization skills and an ability to work productively both independently and in a team environment.
