Custom Assembly Engineer

Job Definition:  Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies used in electrical and electronic systems.

Key Responsibilities:



o Design custom cable and electro-mechanical assemblies and systems emphasizing components distributed by PEI and/or developed by PEI

o Responsible to make the component drawing/s, assembly drawing/s and  process instruction required to build the product

o Work with internal groups at PEI including Applications Engineer, product management, purchasing, quality, engineering and production  to successfully manage products from concept to production using the PEI-Genesis new product development system

o To verify manufacturability of design before endorsing to production including first build.

o To provide technical support for Production

o Work with domestic and overseas manufacturers to develop components and products – include design for cost, tool development, product qualification and ongoing technical support

 



Education & Qualifications:

 

·  B.S. or equivalent in electrical or mechanical engineering

·  Knowledge in designing electro-mechanical components and/or assemblies including cable assemblies and/or power supplies

·  Must have knowledge in tool and die/mold

·  Must have basic knowledge in Electronics

·  Experience working with CAD software such as Pro-E, Solid Edge or AUTOCAD

·  Have good communication/ interaction skills

·  Must be fluent in written and spoken English.

·  Able to work with MS Office software and PEI computer system
