Contract Assistant

DESCRIPTION: This individual would report to the Director of Contracts and assist in contract administration duties as follows: GENERAL:Work independently with minimal supervision.  Comply with contract business processes and procedures.Improve business processes related to contracts.Learn and understand the operation of company business systems. SPECIFIC:Do primary order entry into EMCORE’s business systems by translating information from a Purchase Order (P.O.) or contract into the order entry template.Compare incoming P.O.’s with proposals in order to determine completeness and accuracy.Write business letters and emails to internal and external customers.Understand the use of basic contract documents and templates such as Nondisclosure Agreements and track their flow through the business process.Maintain databases and files of contracts information.Analyze and solve business problems related to contracts.Understand the interfaces between contracts and accounting and participate in problem solving when necessary.Communicate, interface and coordinate with internal and external customers.Become familiar with export licenses and learn to compare draft licenses with P.O.’s for accuracy.
