Consumer Electronics Online Editor

Los Angeles based Internet Brands is currently seeking a full-time Consumer Electronics Online Editor for our Shopping vertical. This position will manage the online product reviews and news articles for our consumer electronics sites. These sites include AVRev.com, ModernHomeTheater.com, HighDefDigest.com and HighDefForum.com.Responsibilities:
Defining the editorial voice of our sites, based on users, existing site content and offerings of competitive sites
Recruiting writers and reviewers to contribute to the sites
Soliciting product samples from manufacturers and PR firms to be reviewed
Determining the topics to be covered and the products to be reviewed. Developing editorial calendar and assigning articles and reviews
Monitoring article submissions for quality and timeliness, editing as needed
Writing some of the articles and reviews to supplement those being contributed by writing team
Working with webmasters to ensure the timely uploading of article submissions into our content management system
Contributing product development ideas for improving the sites


Requirements:

2-4 years experience writing and/or editing in the consumer electronics industry, preferably including online content
Relationships with consumer electronics manufacturers for obtaining review units, and knowledge of key companies across the various sectors of the industry
Good knowledge of and interest in consumer electronics
Excellent familiarity with Internet, preferably including user-generated content. Familiarity with internet technologies and web site development preferred
Prior staff management experience strongly preferred
Basic knowledge of online marketing and SEO desired but not required
Strong interpersonal skills
High level of professionalism and willingness to approach work with a sense of urgency
Bachelor's degree
