Summary:

The following is a list of technical and behavioral skills required for a Chemical Technician. Chemical Technicians are responsible for supporting production requirements with regard to chemical use, maintaining chemical inventories and keeping the chemical storage areas organized and safe. Will support EH&S. 

 



Technical Expectations:

 

· Ability to monitor chemical consumption in the Fab during the shift and plan for incoming shift based on production demands

· Measure, mix, and transport chemicals inside Fab

· Monitor chemical inventory

· Maintain and monitor chemical bulk delivery systems

· Responsible for keeping the chemical area clean and organized at all times

· Responsible for continuous improvement and following Fab protocol

· Handling, packing and labeling hazardous waste for shipment according to federal, state and local regulations.

· Safety ownership

· Encouraged to be a member of the Emergency Response Team (attractive incentive plan)

· Report and document safety violations to ensure a safe workplace

· Help ERT during emergencies

· Be knowledgeable of and adhere to safety standards

· Follow safety protocols in all aspects of job

· Must be able to keep up with production demand

· Support EH&S in meeting regulatory requirements

· Conduct regular audits in work areas

 



Required Skills and Abilities :

· Experience working in a cleanroom environment

· Basic computer skills; MS Office experience required

· Experience with PROMIS preferred

· High school diploma or equivalent

· 3-6 years experience in a semiconductor manufacturing environment as a chemical technician

· Ability to read and understand MSDS’

· Good at setting priorities and working independently

· Effective time management skills

· Detail oriented- ability to review details quickly, keep accurate information, and produce error-free work

·  Collaborates well with team members to effectively solve problems/make decisions

· Proactively learns new skills 

· Accepts changes to work processes

· Meets deadlines· This job requires heavy lifting of 50 to 75 lbs· Requires moving of 55 gallon drums weighing 450 lbs· Must have an excellent knowledge of chemical handling and chemical reactions· Must follow and obey all safety rules· Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
