Location: Saint Joseph, MI 49085 Employment Type: Full Time, Temporary/Contract/Project Reference Code: 1001144619 CAD/PRO-E DESIGNER/DRAFTERDrafter, under moderate supervision, produces complex models and detailed drawings. Prepares relatively simple assembly models and layouts. Work may be generated from markups or a preliminary layout. Manages assigned tasks within scheduled time constraints. Complies with prescribed drafting and CAD modeling   Bachelor or associate degree in industrial engineering technology or related field. Ability to work full time 40hrs/week. Experience using CAD software. Pro-Engineer preferred. Ability to seek the information necessary to solve problems. Ability to analyze a problem and propose solutions in a constructive fact-based way. Personal confidence and integrity. Strong communication and interpersonal skill standards. The Design Academy position is entry level and will be filled on a contract basis. The objective of Design Academy is to maintain a core group of personnel that will be the logical choice for direct hire by the company when positions become available. In Design Academy, drafters will learn or refine the skills necessary to produce manufacturable designs using Pro/Engineer. This learning will be self paced using web based tutorials and one on one guidance provided by experienced designers. After attaining Pro/Engineer skills, The Design Academy Drafter will learn company standards and processes by completing work packages to release or revise common components consisting mostly of threaded fasteners. After mastering these processes, opportunities will be given to work on loan to a variety of engineering teams that are involved in the design of unique parts for consumer products.
