Business Development

 The basic function of the Business Development position is evaluating and managing new initiatives and business opportunities.  Oversees and monitors competitive activities and identifies products and markets for continuous organizational growth and development in addition to the following duties.

 

· Identify existing product applications in new markets.

 

· Develop new market penetration strategy for current and custom products.

 

· Increase sales revenue

 

· Manage all new business development

 

· Conduct market research and investigate new business opportunities

 

· Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, develop sales campaigns to accommodate organizational goals and new product releases

 

· Represents company at trade association meetings to promote product.

 

· Researches, analyzes, and monitors technological and demographic factors so that market opportunities may be identified and capitalized on and the effects of competitive activity may be minimized.

 

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.  Ten to fifteen years sales/marketing experience with at least five to seven years experience in a manufacturing/high tech components industry.

 

Ability to interact with Customers, Sales representatives, Distributors and Colleagues as a leader and a team member.  Read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.  Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.  Read and interpret drawings. Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 

Travel frequently to visit domestic and international customers.  Travel to trade shows and symposiums.

 

This position has the potential to be either a consulting or full-time position.
