Analog/Mixed Signal Design Engineer
Located in: Corvallis, OR 97330 Aptina Imaging is a division of Micron Technology. As an Analog/Mixed Signal Design Engineer at Aptina, you will be responsible for the implementation, design, test, and verification of analog and mixed-signal circuit blocks in an assortment of CMOS process technologies intended for imaging applications utilizing low noise and low power applications. These blocks will consist of low noise amplifiers, precision band gap references, ADCs, temperature sensors, DACs, high voltage charge pumps, special drivers, etc. In this position, you will be responsible for documentation of circuits and products, e.g. specifications, timing diagrams, etc. You will utilize your knowledge of analog performance metrics such as: gain-bandwidth, stability, frequency response, INL, DNL, settling time, noise, etc. You will make important contributions to the layout and/or layout administration of circuit blocks. You will be closely working with design engineering team on a day-to-day basis in solving physical design issues. You may be required to travel. Successful candidates for this position will have: Familiarity of designing analog and mixed-signal blocks (i.e. op-amps, bandgap references, regulators, charge pumps, ADCs, biasing circuits, switch capacitor sampling circuits, etc.). Superior written and oral communications skills. Capability to work autonomously and as part of a team. The ability to model analog circuits and subsystems using standard SPICE component models, and to refine and append existing models according to specific application. Knowledge of typical analog MOSFET operation and biasing techniques to achieve desired state / mode of operation (amplifiers vs. drivers). Thorough knowledge of op-amp circuit theory, modeling, analysis and applications; understanding op-amp frequency, GB, slew rate, input offset voltage, input bias current limitations; including op-amp recommended design practices. Knowledge of differential, isolation, audio, comparators, buffers, DAC and ADC converters, Smart Power, and bandgap Devices. Knowledge of filter theory and operation of active and passive analog filters, including common design techniques and circuit configurations to achieve low pass (LP), band pass (BP), high pass (HP), band stop (BS), all pass (AP) response. The ability to design and develop mixed signal circuitry to interface with digital circuits and systems, including Hybrid and Multi-Chip Modules. The ability to assess, quantify and address thermal and power issues in analog design. An Understanding of analog low noise and low power sampling and conversion circuit design experience and knowledge is especially valued. Knowledge of Cadence Integrated Circuit design tools (Spectre/Virtuoso), Verilog or VHDL, and MatLab. Experience designing in various CMOS process technologies Education:BSEE and 6+ years experience, MSEE and 4+ years experience, or PhD and 2+ years experience. Join Us!
