32-bit Product Marketing Engineer/Manager

Position SummaryThe PIC32 Family is Microchip’s newest product line of high performance 32-bit embedded microcontrollers.  Business is ramping rapidly, and the marketing team is looking for a highly skilled and technically savvy embedded marketer to develop the PIC32 business in Asia. The successful candidate, as part of our core marketing group based in Chandler, AZ, will work extensively with our Asian Marketing, Marcom, Field Sales, and Field Applications resources to drive the product line’s success. The PIC32 Family Product Marketing Engineer (Asia focus) will be responsible for a variety of Product Marketing, Technical Marketing, and customer/field relationship activities.Primary responsibility is to develop an understanding of the market opportunities in Asia and the corresponding opportunities for 32-bit.  Develop key account strategies and penetration plans.  Work with the field and channel partners to build relationships, drive design wins, and ultimately pull through to revenue.  This is not a sales function; this is a divisional marketing function helping to drive the PIC32 business in Asia.  Essential FunctionsCandidate will assist in the definition of new products and product business plans, including whole product planning (Silicon, software, tools, reference platforms, etc.) Identify target markets and develop and execute plans to penetrate these. Will work with the worldwide marcom team to drive PIC32 market promotion, customer/channel training activities, trade show presence, and customer/channel seminars.Develop region-focused marketing collateral, training material and competitive analysis.  Minimum RequirementsRequired: BSEE or equivalent.Required: 5+ years of Product Marketing experience in the embedded software/silicon industry.Required: 3+ years of strong hardware and software technical foundation.  Preferred: 32-bit embedded microcontroller experience, embedded software experience.  Special RequirementsMandarin and English fluency (both written and verbal) are required.The job requires fair amount of travel (25% of time), typically 1-2 trips per quarter to Asia.Candidate must be able to work flexible hours to accommodate overlapping time zones.Excellent communication, presentation, and customer skills required.   Minimum Physical QualificationsMust Possess the ability to stand 25%, walk 25%, sit 50%.
