Web Producer

Reporting to the director of interactive marketing, this position develops and designs web sites incorporating graphic user interface features, interactive content, and other techniques. The web producer maintains and provides ongoing production and design of web sites, interactive content and other forms of digital media.  

 

Essential functions include managing web site production and design and an excellent working knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures as it relates to web communication. Must rely on experience and judgment to plan and execute site development and contribute to team development plans for university projects. Will also conduct ongoing usability testing with new and existing web sites.  

 

Specific Duties:

1.Develop new site concepts, execute site construction based on creative/content briefs, manage existing sites and coordinate new technology ventures with other team members and departments. 2.Conceptualize and develop interactive content features and web video, working in conjunction with other team members and departments within the university. 3.Organize information and content for the web in a way that is audience friendly and suitable for the web. 4.Responsible for scoping Web design projects, in close corporation with IT Services, with university departments and managing these projects from inception through completion. 5.Meet and manage meetings with university departments to discuss web and interactive projects. 6.Work closely with IT Services, other Marketing and Communication team members (writers, project coordinators, designers and communication team members), university departments and external vendors to plan and manage Web design project completions. 7.Conduct ongoing usability testing with target audiences. 8.Other duties as assigned.  

 

 

Requirements:

This position requires the ability to manage several projects simultaneously, 3-5 years experience with website design, development, interactive media production and content management, and must possess excellent communication and organizational skills. Requires proficiency in: Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop, HTML, CSS Requires a strong working knowledge of: Adobe Flash, JavaScript, Adobe InDesign or Quark Xpress, Video editing software (basic skills), Audio editing software (basic skills), XML, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Image Ready, Adobe Acrobat  

 

Preferred:

Bachelor's degree strongly preferred, with three to five years of full time web or interactive experience.
