The Web Design and Interactive Media department has an opening for a full-time faculty member..
The position requires you to design, develop and teach courses involving interactive design and web technologies such as XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, XML, ActionScript and Database concepts. Familiarity with tools such as Flash, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, Final Cut Pro, QuickTime Pro, ExpressionEngine, WordPress, and topics such accessibility, interface heuristics, usability, and web standards, is important.
The program emphasizes conceptual thinking and problem solving that are geared towards delivering an optimum communication solution for a client. Must fulfill all faculty responsibilities outlined in the faculty handbook.
Requirements:
A master's degree in digital design, interactive design, graphic design or a related field is required.
Strong interest in teaching and working with learners.
A minimum of three years professional experience in the industry and teaching experience at the college level is preferred.
Must be proficient in contemporary web industry tools, trends and technologies.
Must have an online portfolio.
Must be able to teach a variety of contemporary web design courses.
Must demonstrate strong written communication and oral presentation skills.
Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and proven effectiveness as a member of a team.
Brief Overview of selected Key Job Elements:
• Teach contact hours each quarter as designated by the Web Design and
Interactive Media Department Chair.
• Maintain office hours.
• Participate in ongoing student advising and portfolio advising.
• Participate in departmental meetings and one college committee.
• Participate in curriculum development as requested by the academic
director.
