Van Driver

Horizons for Homeless Children (HHC) is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to providing early care and education services for homeless children and support services for their families in an atmosphere of safety, nurturance, and stability.  We have three Community Children’s Centers, serving up to 175 children.  We are seeking candidates for a Van Driver at our Jamaica Plain location.  This is a part time, non-exempt position reporting to the Assistant Director.  HHC is actively seeking to increase the cultural diversity of its workforce. Required Skills and Competencies:

·       MA Drivers License with 7D certification and clean driving record

·       Strong communication skills, both written and oral

·       Ability to collaborate and solve problems using a team approach

·       Ability and willingness to handle all sensitive information confidentially

·       Ability to lift 40 pounds

·       Familiarity with the Dorchester/Jamaica Plain/Roxbury areas

·       Priority will be given to individuals who have had previous experience working with homeless children and their families, multi-ethnic urban families or with children-at-risk

 

Salary:                   $12.65/hour

 

Schedule:              20 hours per week, split shift, 8:00 – 10:00 and 3:30 – 6:30.  Additional hours may be scheduled as needed.
