Power Delivery Associates (PDA) is an industry leader for providing electric utilities throughout the U.S. with the latest techniques, requirements and guidelines for the design, construction and operation of transmission and distribution facilities, overhead and underground.
PDA has an immediate job opening and career opportunity for a Utility Training Engineer to be part of its engineering and technical training staff.
Typical courses are developed to address the technical skill requirements for Overhead and Underground Distribution line design, engineering planning, and system operations and maintenance. These courses are taught at the customer’s facilities and will require travel during the working week to locations throughout the U.S.
Other duties include: Conducting training needs-analyses; develop training programs and modules; create hands-on demonstrations; create training presentations; update and revise existing training modules for current compliance to Federal Regulations, National Electric Safety Code (NESC), Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) Part 1992 and other governing bodies; facilitate/conduct all training programs of PDA’s offerings.
A minimum B.S. degree with a discipline of Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical engineering is preferred. However, applicants with Electric Utility work experience will also be considered. Familiarity with producing a syllabus and lessons plans will be helpful. The qualifying candidate will have good written and verbal communication skills and will be self-motivated, dynamic, and customer focused. Positive attitude and ability to manage a flexible work schedule, as well as work within a team environment is a must. A valid driver’s license is required.
