User Services Consultant

Reporting to the Desktop Supervisor, the incumbent will provideInformation Technology support services to the Columbia UniversityMedical Center user community. These services include configuring andtroubleshooting personal computers, related peripherals and variedsoftware packages. Function as a member of the information technologysupport team.

Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education, training andexperience, plus two years of related experience. 

Previous experience providing technical support for software andhardware. Excellent problem solving skills. Firm grasp of Windows andMacintosh hardware, operating systems and application suites.Experience with TCP/IP networking. Must possess excellent customerservice and communication skills. Knowledge of maintaining and workingwith incident management systems is required. Experience in Knowledgegeneration and maintenance is required. Experience with Exchange2003/Vista/Office 2007. Ability to work independently is required.
