Technical Writer - Online Help

SummaryThis position will be one of a team of writers developing the online documentation, training guides, and implementation guides for a suite of web-based applications. This individual must be technically oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines. Will work with business analysts and developers as well as other writers and the technical editor. The Technical Writer will assume some responsibilities for mentoring and training new team members, developing documentation plans for new products, and serving as subject matter experts in application content.   PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES·  Document end-user online help system based on written specifications, interviews with other team members, and hands-on testing of the applications.·  Create and maintain hard copy User Guides, Report Guides, and other collateral material.·  Create quick reference guides and other collateral documentation for all applications as needed.·  Assume responsibility for managing and coordinating collaborative portions of the online help system.·  Perform content review of other writers’ documentation.   REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES·  Familiarity with XML, HTML, and HTML Help·  Familiarity with HTML or Windows-based documentation tools·  Familiarity with Microsoft Word, including styles and templates·  Familiarity with client/server environments·  Excellent written and verbal communication skills·  Ability to adhere to corporate standards and styles·  Ability to manage multiple projects within strict deadlines·  Real estate experience a plus·  BA in English, Communications, or Technical Writing.  Equivalent experience may be acceptable.·  Minimum 6 years experience in software systems online and hard copy documentation    Job Information Job Title: Technical Writer - Online Help Company: RealPage Inc Location: Carrollton, TX Status: Full Time, Employee Job Category: Editorial/Writing Contact Information Company: RealPage Inc Email: Apply by Email
