Your Ingenuity is welcome!Under general supervision, develops and maintains technical documentation standards, templates and delivery methods for Systems Products (SP) product documentation for use by JCI customers and Field personnel.  Edits technical documentation received from Technical Writers to ensure content and usability meet the requirements of the end users.   1.Develops and maintains (SP) product documentation templates for SP Engineering, based on industry standards and user preferences received via surveys and feedback. 2.Develops and maintains the Technical Documentation Guide and ensures documentation adheres to the correct styles, templates and/or format. 3.Collaborates with internal teams in planning, organizing and scheduling documentation revisions and releases. 4.Reviews technical documentation for effective presentation of ideas, scope, completeness, tone and effectiveness for meeting the needs of the intended customer type and/or Johnson Controls job function (e.g. Sales, Engineering, Installation, Commissioning, and Service). 5.  Edits technical documentation for spelling, grammar, organization, technical accuracy, usability and content (e.g. missing instructions or sections; redundant or unnecessary sections). 6.  Ensures documentation meets legal requirements for U.S. trademark standards. 7.  Prioritizes and balances customer documentation requirements and timeliness of release with editing requirements. 8.  Coordinates publication of final, approved documentation in the appropriate delivery format: Web, CD-ROM, paper, etc. 9.  Maintains electronic product documentation archives and global documentation database for JCI customersl and Field personnel. 10.  Stays abreast of and learns emerging software and technologies that support the improvement of technical documentation. 11.  Performs other duties related to editing and delivering technical documentation as assigned. 1. Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, or similar field or equivalent experience. 2. Minimum two years experience editing technical documentation 3. Strong intrapersonal communication skills. 4.  Proficiency in desktop publishing (FrameMaker) and Word processing (Microsoft Word) software applications, and productivity applications (Microsoft Access). 5. Superior grammatical skills 6. Ability to deal with changing priorities and lead times. 7. Able to manage and adhere to tight deadlines in support of product releases
