Location: North Brunswick, NJ
Ross University founded in 1978 with the purpose of educating students who are interested in a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. Ross University headquarters, admissions and administrative offices are located in North Brunswick, NJ. While basic science and pre-clinical courses are taught on our campuses in the Caribbean, Ross students complete their clinical rotations in the U.S. and are licensed to practice medicine in the U.S. after passing all prerequisite examinations. Job Summary:
The Student Representative is responsible to ensure that students, their parents and all members of the University receive a professional level of service regarding inquires and records. This person serves as the primary customer interface in Student Finance to provide timely information in response to requests and to handle and resolve issues. He/She communicates with customers by telephone, e-mail, fax, regular mail correspondence, or in person. The Student Representative ensures incoming calls are answered and routed appropriately when necessary.
Essential Job Functions:
Reviews and acknowledges customer requests received via phone, fax, e-mail or in-person. Clarifies information for processing and enters relevant information in appropriate database(s). Processes non-complex requests and assigns complex requests to other associates.Conducts research to resolve issues or gain additional information. Conducts appropriate follow-up with internal and external customers to ensure resolution of the request. Expediently manages and maintains request queues in e-mail box or in database. Handles and resolves routine customer issues and escalates to counselors/managers when necessary. Actively participates in teams to continuously learn/improve and drive quality into Ross University's service to the customer. Knows and applies fundamental customer service concepts, practices and procedures to create effective customer relationships. Daily functions include but are not limited to: supporting the counseling team, routing electronic requests, responding to voicemails, entering mail into the system, maintaining the student finance records and sending correspondence to students.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Previous customer service experience desired. Possesses working knowledge of basic academic policies and procedures or ability to learn.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with staff, faculty and students. Dependability, strong teamwork skills and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Ability to meet new challenges with an open mind and an optimistic response.Must have PC skills in Microsoft Office and internet applications; SCT Banner knowledge or other University software is desired.
Required Credentials and Education:Bachelors Degree required or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.1-2 years previous higher education experience preferred.
