Position Summary This position is responsible for managing teams to ensure students receive excellent customer service regarding their account balances. Communicates objectives, coordinates activities, directs personnel actions, including classification, recruiting, new hire actions, interviewing and selecting new staff, staff reviews, and salary determinations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Develops a plan to ensure students who are intermitting or graduating can be handled appropriately and advised according to their payment plan.
2. Responsible for Accounts Receivable balances and meet them on a semester basis as outline by the Director.
3. Ensures accurate communication is being delivered to students regarding their account balance or missing documents.
4. Communicates objectives, coordinates activities, directs personnel actions, including classification, recruiting, new hire actions, interviewing and selecting new staff, staff reviews, and salary determinations.
5. Develops annual departmental plan and designs a weekly, monthly, and quarterly list of priorities to measure performance.
6. Responds to incoming inquiries about student accounts and delegate as required.
7. Determines training requirements and communicates those to Department Trainer to effectively administer the student finance advising functions.
8. Prepares and delivers thorough staff performance evaluations and provide abundant recognition for employee performing well.
9. Emphasizes the importance of student retention and shows rates.
10. Serves as liaison between Student Services and the Financial Aid Office. Provides information and technical direction to correct student system errors, situations or concerns.
11. Reviews holds on a weekly basis and ensures holds are being resolved each week.
12. Completes other projects and duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Below are the minimum requirements of the education, experience, knowledge, and skills required to competently perform in this position. Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required, Master’s degree preferred. Six years of financial aid experience. Working knowledge of Title IV Regulations preferred. Excellent customer service skills along with written and verbal communication skills required. Ability to work in a proactive student finance environment. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed PC skills in Microsoft Office, database and internet applications. Accounting or finance experience helpful.
