Â

The National Strategic Planning & Analysis Research Center (nSPARC) at Mississippi State University invites applications for a Software Engineer.Â The successful candidate will provide architectural abstractions, design and programming best practices, strategic assessment and analysis of software development standards, infrastructure, technology, and technical documentation, and coding and design reviews. Responsible for architectural design of cutting-edge multi-tier applications, contributing to the development and evolution of technical and architectural roadmaps, and developing architectural requirements and framework strategies for a wide array of client focused research projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Â

Specific responsibilities include: performing code reviews and design reviews, researching and evaluating industry trends in software and hardware for project development and operational support activities, analyzing current architecture to identify opportunities for improvements in expanding capacity, reducing resource expenditures and integration of third party and internally developed components to achieve interoperability, prepare and review documentation for users/operators, and code efficiently adhering to established programming standards.Â Perform other duties as assigned.Â Â Â

Minimum QualificationsÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â

Bachelorâ€™s Degree in software engineering, computer science, computer engineering or related discipline and two years of experience with JAVA development and J2EE frameworks, demonstrated familiarity with RDBMS.

Masterâ€™s Degree in software engineering, computer science, computer engineering or related discipline; minimum of three years of experience with design, architecture and deployment of J2EE enterprise applications; minimum of three years of RDBMS experience or two years of IBM DB2 experience.Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
