ICF International seeks a Senior Researcher to work within our Community, Family and Education Studies group (CFES). CFES conducts research, evaluation, and technical assistance projects in education, child welfare, youth development, welfare reform, and juvenile justice. We seek a Senior Researcher to contribute to several projects in these areas and to play a role in building an expanded program of research/evaluation in education and related areas. Our work focuses on important policy issues, uses rigorous and innovative evaluation methods, and involves working closely with clients to ensure that results are relevant, useful and make a difference. This position is based in Fairfax, VA.In current projects we:Serve as a key partner in the Regional Educational Laboratory Mid-Atlantic for which we lead several fast response studies and randomized control trials Direct a national evaluation of Communities in Schools using a mixed method approach that includes quasi-experimental and experimental design Serve as a key partner in the newly re-competed What Works Clearinghouse where we assist in conducting systematic reviews and developing and maintaining online registries Serve as an evaluator for Texas Education Agency including programs providing literacy training, community-based youth services, and teacher mentoring services Serve as the national evaluator and technical assistance provider for an initiative to implement system of care approaches in child welfare in communities across the U.S. Design and implement evaluations of programs to serve victims of crimes, including human trafficking Conduct the national evaluation of the "Greenbook Initiative" - a multi-site system change initiative to improve services and outcomes for families with co-occurrence of child maltreatment and domestic violence.

Applications are encouraged from researcher/evaluators who have:Ph.D. in education psychology, education research, sociology, social work, public policy, psychology or related field, plus 5+ years of experience. (Experience in consulting environment preferred.) Strong research and evaluation skills, including knowledge of experimental and quasi-experimental research as well as qualitative and quantitative methods Experience translating evaluation findings and supporting the implementation of evidence-based practice in human service systems Knowledge of education, child welfare, youth development areas Exposure to multi-level modelling, Propensity Score Matching, Psychometric skills, Item Response Theory (IRT) Publications and presentations in related fields.ICF International offers an excellent benefits package and competitive salary.
