Description: Title: Senior Finance Manager Reports to: Executive Director POSITION SUMMARY Bronx Charter School for the Arts is seeking a part-time Finance Manager to oversee fiscal operations, as well as some human resource functions. The ideal candidate is experienced in non-profit accounting and fiscal management, human resource administration, and is a high energy collaborator who is passionate about improving educational opportunities. Bronx Arts opened in 2003, has a staff of approximately 50 and an annual operating budget of $5 million. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Financial Management (75%) • Supervise bookkeeper, manage all accounts, records, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate internal and GAAP standards and regulatory requirements • Review monthly reconciliation of bank accounts, monthly closings and financial statements • Prepare regular reports for management, Board, and Finance Committee as needed; attend meetings of the Board of Directors• Manage annual budgeting process, prepare and monitor organizational budget; prepare cash flow projections, manage cash flow • Manage financial policies and procedures; further develop and maintain systems of internal controls • Train and supervise staff on financial management systems and processes as needed; • Oversee annual audit; prepare reports and documentation as requested by external auditor • Prepare and submit tax reporting with accountant • Manage organizational relationships with payroll firm, benefits providers, insurers, banks, and other financial institutions • Complete Federal, Sate and City reporting and invoicing requirements Fundraising & Organizational Development (10%) • Work with the development team to prepare financial reports, budgets, and analyses for federal, state, corporate, and private foundation grant applications and reports • Reconcile financial and fundraising systems with development team to ensure accurate records and reporting Human Resources (10%) • Manage payroll processing • Manage insurance (health, dental, life, liability, workers’ compensation, disability and unemployment) related matters • Administer employee retirement plan • Assist Executive Director in implementing personnel and office policies and procedures; update employee handbook as needed; • Oversee processes for new and exiting employees• Manage system for monitoring staff timekeeping (vacation, sick and leave) Others Duties as Requested (5%) Additional Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or related field. Master’s degree or CPA preferred • Minimum of 3-5 years of non-profit accounting and financial management experience • Background in personnel, human resources and management preferred• Experience in real estate transactions and loan structures preferred • Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, Outlook, Word and online payment systems • Skilled in strategic resource allocation and maintaining sharp financial controls • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail • Confident self-starter; ability to prioritize and juggle multiple assignments • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills • Ability to attend occasional evening and weekend meetings • Ability to anticipate, troubleshoot, problem solve and create/implement systems that contribute to a smooth efficient and smart working environment • Commitment to and enthusiasm for Bronx Arts’ mission, high energy, creative, flexible, sense of humor, “can-do” attitude, outgoing and friendly personality
