Senior Accountant

Our headquarters, located in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, is seeking a Senior Accountant able to perform in a growing and challenging work environment.  Candidates must possess solid technical accounting and analytical skills, show attention to detail,  have good organization skills and be flexible and adaptable to change.

 

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

 

·  Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations in a timely manner, including bank statement, prepaids, fixed assets, and intercompany account reconciliations.

·   Maintain accurate subsidiary ledgers for fixed assets accounts.

·  Analyze accounts for accuracy and provide proper supporting documents.

·  Explain changes in balances by identifying variances between actual vs. budget and providing written explanations.

·  Prepare journal entries for recording monthly revenue recognition, payroll expense, accruals, depreciation and other account activity.

·  Assist with preparing schedules for annual external audit.

·  Provide continuous assistance and support to our affiliated schools.

 

Requirements:

 Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.Minimum five years work experience in accounting and financial reporting.Proficiency with Excel and Word.Knowledge of accounting systems required;  experience using Navision or Great Plains is a plus.Must have strong written and verbal communications skills.
