Security Officer

Marymount College is currently accepting applications for Campus Safety & Security Officers.  Marymount College is a 2-year college in the Catholic tradition offering a superior liberal arts program leading to an Associate Degree.

 We are looking for self-motivated, responsible individuals with excellent communication skills to join our growing Campus Safety and Security team! 

Positions are available at our main campus in Rancho Palos Verdes and at our student residence halls in San Pedro. 

Duties: Provide a visible presence on campus or at student residential sites through foot patrols;  monitor entry points;  monitor buildings for unauthorized persons and suspicious activities Apply basic safety procedures and practices Watch for and report security breaches, facility and safety hazards, etc. Provide customer service to students, parents, faculty, staff and visitors; provide directions or escort visitors as necessary Maintain knowledge of on-going events, campus buildings, utility shut-offs, fire alarm systems, etc. Write legible and detailed reports Watch for emergency situations; take action in emergencies Willingness to cover other shifts and/or sites as needed, and ability to work weekends and holidays

 Available positions: Full-time, Tuesday - Saturday, 11pm to 7am (San Pedro) Part-time, Friday & Saturday, 11pm to 7am (Rancho PV)

 Requirements: High School diploma or GED Excellent written and verbal communication skills Basic computer literacy Valid driver's license and good driving record Prior experience in law enforcement, security, or related field is a plus. Guard card, CPR and first aid certification is a plus.
