The Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) system, located in Rockville, Maryland, is the 16th largest in the United States and one of the most respected in the nation. We currently have an opening for an experienced, professional Secretary to the Chief of Staff who thrives in a growing, fast-paced environment in our Central Office in Rockville.



In this dynamic role, you will report to the Chief of Staff, assist the Office of the Superintendent secretarial team and work with a variety of distinguished external contacts. Your responsibilities will include diverse general office administration duties for the Chief of Staff including, arranging and supporting external and internal meetings, organizing calendars, assisting with department events planning, handling confidential correspondence and using the internal financial management system to process accounting activities for the Office.



Your background and qualifications will demonstrate that you are a thoroughly competent and polished professional who is highly organized and self-confident with a strong ability to multitask and to maintain confidential information. At least five years of experience in a senior level position is required; some college work preferred.  Candidates should have strong communication skills, editing experience and thorough familiarity with business English, including strong spelling and grammar skills. Position requires proficiency in basic bookkeeping and a mastery of MS Office applications. Pre-employment MS Office tests and background check required.
