Science Outreach Coordinator - Part-time, 21 hours per week
The Rockefeller University, a world-renowned center for research and graduate education in the biomedical sciences, seeks a Science Outreach Coordinator - Part-time, 21 hours per week to join Dean's Office. Will assist with admissions, matching, surveying, and tracking over 300 applicants for a prestigious science mentoring program for high school students and teachers. Program components include mentored research in laboratories, a science communication course based on a model journal article, a seminar series focusing on the University President's holiday lecture, and collaborating with various institutions for curriculum development. Will also assist with administrative aspects of the University's volunteer program. Bachelor's degree required. Must have demonstrated office skills, excellent organization and communication skills, and ability to prioritize and multi-task. Experience with creating and using blogs, wikis, Facebook, MySpace, and e-filing to more efficiently reach over 1,000 alumni is desirable. Must have strong computer skills specifically with Word, Excel, email, and Access. Knowledge and experience with phpQuestionnaire, Oracle, web publishing, and graphic design highly desired.
