Research Marketing Manager

Emory is currently looking for an experienced Marketing Research professional to join the Emory Healthcare Marketing Management Team.  The Marketing Research Manager is responsible for:

Marketing Research Development:  Directs development of marketing research on EMORY HEALTHCARE potential customers and patients to improve effectiveness of marketing activities and improve overall system performance in various markets.  Responsible for implementing consumer surveys, patient surveys or conducting focus groups and analyzing results.  Responsible for developing actionable marketing and operational recommendations based on these results.

Production of Environmental Assessment and Strategic Assumptions: Establishes and manages process for assessing market share trends in the Georgiahealth care market and producing recommendations to address these trends.  This includes developing an annual Environmental Assessment of the Georgiamarket using secondary market data and internal data to assess utilization trends.  Responsible for any other data obtained by Marketing Research from surveys or focus groups that may be relevant in this assessment.

Product Line Strategic Planning:  Responsible for working with targeted EMORY HEALTHCARE sections to assess marketing activities and develop research-based recommendations for implementing marketing plans.  This includes using internal utilization statistics and external secondary information to track section performance in the metro and state market and identify areas of weak performance.

Referring Physician Research:  Directs research on referring physicians to assess their satisfaction levels and referral patterns.  Establishes communication links to internal Emory Healthcare physicians to communicate results of satisfaction surveys or other marketing research focused on referring physicians and to communicate marketing or operational recommendations to these physicians.

Managing Marketing Information Systems:  Oversees collection of information for marketing initiatives and ensures that databases needed for marketing activities are maintained properly.  This includes managing the Medstat software system that includes external, secondary marketing data and managing the internal marketing databases in the EMORY HEALTHCARE data warehouse.  Must provide guidance to staff managing and reporting on large databases.

Statistical Analysis and Reporting:  Directs questionnaire design and reviews statistical validity and reliability of consumer surveys conducted by marketing department.  Also assesses quality of data retrieved from data warehouse and the Medstat data system.  Oversees study design based on current marketing research statistical methods including sampling methodologies, segmenting methodologies (conjoint analysis, cluster analysis) and ensures that information is interpreted appropriately.

Goals and Objectives:  Develops market research and marketing short and long term goals and objectives and provides direction to research staff and other marketing staff in achieving these objectives.

Professional Development:  Maintains professional growth by participating in educational programs and professional organizations and activities to maintain knowledge of current trends in marketing research and current health care developments.
Budget Management:  Prepares and monitors marketing research budget to ensure marketing research projects are completed while remaining within the allotted budget.

List Maintenance:  Monitors production of mailing lists for marketing and other sections.  Oversees sources utilized for lists and assists in review of sources.

Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field. MBA with emphasis in Marketing strongly required.  Minimum 7 years experience in quantitative analysis in a marketing environment using database packages including SQL, Oracle, Access and Excel.  Knowledge of SAS or SPSS is highly desirable.  Strongly prefer three years in the healthcare field, preferably in a large and complex organization and minimal five years supervisory experience.
