Research Assistant III

Duties And Responsibilities: This entry-level position represents an exciting opportunity to have an impact on the growing field of proteomics at Harvard Medical School. The job responsibilities include software development and some computational support for a world-class mass spectrometry laboratory. The successful applicant would be an integral member of a team involved in the maintenance of existing software modules and develop new analysis tools for an in-house mass spectrometry data work flow. The candidate would also be responsible for maintaining the lab's website.
Basic Qualifications: B.S in Computer Science, Computational Biology/ Bioinformatics, Biology or Biochemistry with interest in software development.
Additional Qualifications: Experience in Software engineering methodologies, usage of software versioning systems (such as CVS, SVN, etc.) as well as server architecture is a plus. The ideal candidate must have an excellent aptitude and must possess analytical and problem solving skills, and work independently. The candidate should be comfortable in development of web-based applications using PHP in the LAMP environment. Click Here to Apply
