Research Assistant

The Rockefeller University, a world-renowned center for research and graduate education in the biomedical sciences, seeks a Research Assistant to join Program for the Human Environment. Assisting the director on research projects, will assemble data and conduct research applying simple mathematical models from biology (especially Lotka-Volterra) to understand and predict a wide range of biological and social phenomena, assist with analysis of problems of the human environment, including marine biodiversity, industrial ecology, and zero-emission energy systems, and help to create and disseminate an on-line Encyclopedia of Life. Will assist in the office on practical tasks when needed. Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in science and/or graduate training required. Educational emphasis in applied math, applied physics, or statistics preferred. Must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently as well as part of a team communicating and interacting with a network of collaborators. Experience with data sets, research, and writing necessary. Must be computer proficient and have database management experience.
