Purchasing Manager

ISS is looking for a Manager to direct the day-to-day operations of the Purchasing Department.  ISS offers international schools and universities access to materials and equipment with significant cost savings and full administrative follow through.

Directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and management of the program.  Manage the procurement, consolidation, export and documentation of educational supplies and equipment in support of schools located overseas.  Provide supervision and direction for a department of 18.

 - Establish and implement uniform routines, policies and procedures.

 - Provide leadership for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships.

 - Recommend and implement strategic changes in purchasing and warehouse operations.

 - Update/negotiate vendor discounts.

 - Direct contact and relationship with clients.

 - Marketing and public relations of ISS' purchasing services at international conferences.

 - Negotiate long-term agreements and programs with key vendors.Minimum 7-10 years progressively complex experience in purchasing roles and assignments, including a minimum of 3 years experience supervising and managing staff. A minimum of 3-5 years in budget management and demonstrated experience in formulating budgets.  Good working knowledge of international education preferred.

A Bachelors degree with a focus in project management, logistics or transportation preferred.
