Project Manager - Finance & HR System Development

The University of Connecticut Health Center (UCHC) is seeking two experienced, dynamic project managers to manage key large scale finance and human resource system development projects.  This position will be responsible for planning, coordinating and leading all aspects of various projects in order to meet organizational goals and timeframes.  The ideal candidate would have strong large scale project management experience in finance and human resource systems, very strong communication, planning and problem solving skills, and be a self-motivated, dedicated leader able to quickly adapt to new concepts and directions. 


Primary skills required: 

 

Demonstrated project leadership skills, including:Experience in large scale finance and human resource projectsStrong project planning skills, including ability to set direction and goals that are consistently achieved.Proven ability to lead, manage and motivate cross functional teams challenged with multiple priorities.Demonstrated ability to manage and creatively solve problems impacting project progressAbility to communicate project progress and issues at all levels, including presenting key highlights to senior executives.Strong experience with all project life cycle phases, including planning, analysis, specifications, quality assurance, process re-engineering, training, implementation and monitoring of compliance and metrics.Demonstrates clear accountability for team performance and ownership of project results. 

 

Experience with the following subject areas:Vendor management, including RFP, negotiation of contracts and financial monitoringKnowledge of finance and human resource operations, including proposal development and monitoring

 

Primary Responsibilities of the position include:

 Work with finance and human resource UCHC management to establish priorities for finance and humans resource systems, building and executing plans to support goals and objectives.Establish, manage and motivate teams dedicated to each project to meet expected deliverables and timelines.Manage key finance and human resource system projects, establishing priorities among projects in progress and building and executing plans to support clinical, research, compliance and financial goals and objectives.Establish, manage and motivate finance and humans resource cross –functional teams to meet expected deliverables and timelines.  Develop issue resolution processes, including establishing project steering committee and key topic decision groups as needed.Communicate project progress to project teams, finance and humans resources management, steering committees and UCHC IT Governance.


Qualifications:

 

General Eight (8) years experience in directing large scale systems development projects through all life cycle phases.  Experience in prioritizing and managing multiple projects at one time.

Special 2 to 4 years experience with installation and management of finance and human resources systems.
