PROJECT COORDINATOR: ($2173 per month)-Job Code: 8NV080
Department: College of Arts and Sciences
Education: Bachelor's degree in an area generally related to project content or assigned responsibilities.
Experience: Two years experience in a generally related area.
Duties: Performs coordinative work in day-to-day operations in order to develop and implement projects for the College of Arts & Sciences. Areas of concern include project development, financial management and administration, consultation operations, and planning. Work is performed under general supervision.
Special Job Duties: Maintains website for Bachelor of General Studies program and College of Arts and Sciences; provides backup for the Bachelor of General Studies Program; gathers and analyzes data in support of the BGS Institutional Effectiveness plan; coordinates projects such as Science Fair and Edible Car contest; provides support for development of new initiatives; assist with production of the CAS Newsletter; provides support for development of new initiatives; monitors activities of projects to assure that policies and guidelines are observed; collects project data for special reports; maintains good public relations; designs program promotional materials, including flyers and brochures; develops and maintains an effective record keeping procedure; ensures that support services are provided to the program and community; anticipates needs of the project and develops recommendations for filling these needs; performs additional duties and responsibilities as required.Working knowledge of office practices and methods; proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, FrontPage, Publisher, and Power Point; proficiency in web design and development; ability to operate or learn to operate office machines required to perform the assigned work; ability to organize work effectively, conceptualize and prioritize objectives and exercise independent judgment based on an understanding of organizational policies and activities; ability to perform mathematical calculations and/or verify information accurately; ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the public; ability to coordinate work with other employees, providing direct instruction or supervision as assigned; ability to respond to emergency situations in a timely manner; ability to communicate effectively orally, by phone, in person, and in writing; and ability to represent the department and University in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner
