Programmer Analyst II
University of Nevada, Reno, department of Computing & Telecommunication, is seeking a Programmer Analyst II. This position participates as a CTC team member in the programming, implementation and maintenance of campus business-oriented computer applications. The Programmer Analyst develops, modifies, tests, implements and supports CTC computer applications and programs. The individual works directly with and provides support to end users to define system specifications. For more information and to apply, you must visit: www.unrsearch.com/applicants/Central?quickFind=53123The ideal candidate will possess: * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Discipline and organizational skills in order to effectively program and maintain computer programs in a complex computer environment * Ability to develop computer programs using varying machines, languages and development environments * Ability to take initiative and work independently as well as part of a group This Administrative Faculty position requires a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution with emphasis or major in Computer Information Systems or related field. Must also have two years of experience programming in many of the following languages and tools: Visual Studio.NET, VB.NET, ASP.NET, Oracle, PL/SQL - stored procedures, SQL Reporting Services, Windows/Vista operating systems, MS Office and Sharepoint. Experience with data analysis for reporting and interpretation. In addition, the preferred candidate will demonstrate: * Experience developing computer programs for the Internet using Visual Basic.Net and general object oriented programming concepts * Prior experience with relational databases and SQL programming * Familiarity with desktop and server computer hardware and operating systems, particularly Windows* Computer networking as it relates to the development and support of multi-tiered applications * Higher education experience Salary range for this Administrative Faculty position is $38,804 to $59,699, DOE. Other benefits include TIAA/CREF and other retirement options; 24 days vacation annually; generous sick leave; tuition benefits for self and family; and no state income tax or FICA. The University of Nevada, Reno, the land-grant university and major research institution in the state, has a student body of approximately 16,000. The University is situated in Reno, a metropolitan area of 350,000, on the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada mountain range.
