Job Description:

Wireless Generation’s Professional Services team provides innovative services that empower K-12 educators to use data-driven strategies to improve student outcomes. This is the newest department in a company that has long focused on providing mobile assessment solutions to schools. WGPS seeks an Education Consultant in Oklahoma (ideally Oklahoma City or Tulsa) to provide content expertise and leadership around our new offerings.

The Educational Consultant will conduct training and professional development sessions for teachers and other instructional leaders. These sessions will relate to mCLASS products and services including assessing students, interpreting data, developing targeted instructional plans, observing and giving feedback to practicing teachers. The format of these sessions will be a combination of large group, one-on-one, and small-group sessions. The Consultant will also have responsibility in communicating results of professional learning to local stakeholders and the Company.
Successful candidates will have experience in providing both K-12 classroom instruction and adult professional development, preferably centered around educational technology products. They will be strong facilitators, skilled at leading training sessions as well as more consultative group meetings with educators. They will be flexible in their approach, able to react to various participant styles, environments, experience levels, and technologies. Finally, they will be enthusiastic self-starters who thrive on the excitement of working with a small, mission-driven education company that strives to make a real difference in K-12 education.

This is a contract position for the 2008-09 school year (mid Aug – end of May).

Responsibilities of Educational Consultant:
Prepare and deliver onsite professional learning sessions for individuals, small groups and groups of up to 30 participants
Lead teams of teachers in strategic data inquiry and conversation to determine root causes and determine next steps to achieve student outcomes
Determine needs of individual students, schools or groups within the school and design ongoing support to meet those needs
Select appropriate tools and strategies for developing differentiated lessons and activities for adult and student learners
Work closely with the Company’s content development team to deliver targeted professional learning that is congruent with Company and district goals
Set timelines and track progress to meet program expectations

Requirements of Educational Consultant:
BA or advanced degree
Minimum 5 years teaching experience (elementary school preferred)
Significant literacy development experience
Demonstrated presentation skills
Experience analyzing assessment data, instructional resources and classroom practices
Excellent verbal and writing skills
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to mediate group and individual processes
Fluent in MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
Travel required (statewide and occasional travel to NY)
