Evaluation Systems group of Pearson is a leader in the development and administration of teacher certification tests. Our Test Product Services Department is currently seeking a Production Editor to join one of our fast-paced production teams. The Production Editor performs copyediting, proofreading and other quality control checks on the company's print-based and Web-based products. The Editor will also assist in developing and documenting quality control procedures, work with team members to create work schedules, maintain accurate, up-to-date proofreading/quality control logs, and assume other duties as needed. Some travel for the company is required. Requirements of the position include: a Bachelor's degree in English, English Language Arts, and/or equivalent experience; a minimum of three years of copyediting and/or writing experience in a publications environment; experience working on multiple projects simultaneously; and online materials design and proofing experience. The preferred candidate will have experience using the major style guides (Chicago Manual of Style, Words into Type), experience providing tactful editorial suggestions to staff at a variety of levels, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.
