The New School University

 

 

The New School seeks a part-time medical provider for its Medical Services.  The medical provider reports to the Assistant Director of Medical Services.  This is a newly created position, and resumes will be accepted until the position is filled.

 

Responsibilities:Provides medical care to New School students for acute, episodic illnesses.Provides women's health care, including acute and routine GYN care and family planning.Manages chronic illness within the scope of the Medical Services operation.Provides physical assessment to students for various needs.Provides internal referrals to Counseling Services and external referrals to specialists and hospital facilities as appropriate.Orders x-rays, scans, and other imaging as appropriate.Participates in departmental meetings, continuing quality improvement initiatives and peer review as requested.Maintains appropriate medical record documentation on patients. Accepts administrative duties as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications:Board certification and New York State licensure as a physician, physician assistant or nurse practitioner.Five years of clinical experience.BCLS certificationExperience with college age population preferred.
