Position Description:

Green Bay, WI PT outside sales opportunityScholastic Book Fairs works with schools across the country to host more than 120,000 annual reading events, connecting more than 55 million children with great books each year. Book Fairs foster enthusiasm for reading, while helping to build school and classroom libraries by providing students, teachers and parents access to thousands of books and educational products at affordable prices. We are looking for a Field Sales Representative to manage a Book Fairs territory working out of a home office. This individual will:Develop a sales plan with the Sales Consultants in target schools/fairs to maximize sales at each event.Coordinate planned revenue-building activities of assigned book fairs with Chairperson or other Book Fair volunteers to generate sales and achieve customer satisfaction. (i.e. Classroom Wish List, Partnership in Reading)Conduct selected revenue-building activities to optimize Book Fair financial results for the school and the company. (i.e.; Pre-Fair visits, directed setups, Family Event Prep, Volunteer Training, and Teacher Preview)Identify, communicate and respond to opportunities to impact sales and customer satisfaction with each customer.Schedule, coordinate, and conduct Chairperson Workshops to maximize the Chairperson training opportunity and sales performance.Manage, coordinate, attend, and conduct presentations at events such as conventions, exhibits, trade shows, and host/hotel shows.Maintain accurate and up-to-date sales/services records of all activity in assigned territory, insuring that all departments receive the necessary information as required.Through communication, foster and maintain a cohesive, productive, and collaborative relationship with both operations and sales.Represent Scholastic Book Fairs in a manner that assures our customer's delight with our product, process, and services.Develop expertise in our product, merchandising, and services in order to offer each customer the best guidance on conducting bigger and better events.Support our mission to encourage reading and promote lifelong learning, and demonstrate our values of caring and respect for all people.Perform duties in a timely and efficient manner and work on projects as identified and assigned by the Field Sales Manager.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience in Business Administration, Management, Marketing, or related field.Minimum of two (2) years of proven successful sales experience in retail or district / territory sales, event management, personal selling, and customer service.Proficiency with MS Office software; experience with Sales Automation, Customer Relationship Management or web based software programs.Proven ability to build and grow revenue while adding value for customers.Familiarization with children's literature, Book Fairs, and school activities desired.Ability to execute a vision, manage multiple priorities, and achieve results.Strong oral and written communication skills, including oral presentation skills.Demonstrated customer orientation.Outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building skills - with peers, superiors (across functions and throughout the company) and customers.Proficient in marketing and merchandising strategy and execution.Professional business attire and appearance.Current and valid driver's license with good driving record required.Overnight travel as necessary.Evening hours as needed.EOE/AA/H/V/DFWP
