Outreach Instructor
The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles seeks instructors to teach and implement outreach programs, such as the Earthmobile, Seamobile, Skymobile and Earth Odyssey, throughout Los Angeles county. Includes managing day-to-day program operations while on-site, staffing open houses as needed, serving as a liaison to school administrators and teachers, and working with program coordinators and assistants to maintain and execute all aspects of the programs. Additionally, you'll assist with developing curriculum and materials, setting up/breaking down events, and conducting program evaluations/reporting on statistics.
Requires 2 years of informal teaching experience with general computer/e-mail/Internet proficiency. A Bachelor's degree in Education, Science, Anthropology or a related field is preferred. Excellent interpersonal and teaching skills working with both children and adults are essential. Must be able to travel to outreach sites throughout Los Angeles County.
