Occupational Therapist/Group Facilitator
The person hired will be responsible for providing direct therapy to children with visual impairments from infancy to age three and training for caregivers. He/she will also be responsible for facilitating support and recreation groups for school-aged children with visual impairments. The goals of the groups are to enhance social skills, increase independence, and promote community participation.

EARLY INTERVENTION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Â
1)Â Â Â Â Direct Services including: Conduct assessments and make recommendations for services Plan and implement individualized services in the natural environment or otherwise designated site consistent with the philosophy of early intervention programs Provide support and training to parents and team members to assure high quality and coordinated services Address assistive technology needs for individual children as appropriate

2)    Support Services: Provide written assessment reports in compliance with early intervention and agency requirements Maintain attendance records and monthly progress reports Attend Delta Gamma Center program team meetings when indicated Consult with community professionals as necessary to coordinate services for clients. Complete specialized training required to maintain licensure and early intervention credential

GRADS GROUPS (GROUP RECREATION & DEVELOPMENTAL SUPPORT) SERVICES FOR SCHOOL-AGE YOUTH:
1)      Direct services including: Plan and coordinate all activities for assigned GRADS groups consistent with the established goals – to enhance social skills and friendships, promote independence, and increase community participation, including: Developing lesson plans that address social skills development Providing opportunities for peer support Providing opportunities for participants to practice increased independence Providing recreational opportunities, ensuring that all adaptations and modifications are made to enable full participation of all group members Securing guest speakers Planning community outings Collaborating with community organizations Assist in the development of individual goals for participants in the areas of social skills, independence, and community participation upon request, and collect data to evaluate progress on those goals Plan annual challenge trips for group members and chaperone trips as assigned

o   Supervise and train volunteers
o   Assist in the evaluation of group activities and make recommendations for improvements and expansion
o   Coordinate with other group facilitator(s)

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited university program and licensure Experience in pediatrics   Experience addressing feeding issues and sensory integration disorders Experience with children with visual impairments, preferred
