WISCONSIN GEOLOGICAL AND NATURAL HISTORY SURVEY
(WGNHS)
WGNHS is a special-missions unit of the Division of Cooperative Extension, UW-Extension. The WGNHS conducts earth-science surveys, field studies, and research. It provides objective scientific information about the geology, mineral resources, water resources, soil, and biology of Wisconsin. The Survey collects, interprets, disseminates, and archives natural resource information and communicates the results of its activities through publications, technical talks, and responses to inquiries from the public. These activities support informed decision-making by government, industry, business, and individual citizens of Wisconsin.
The Outreach Manager manages and coordinates all WGNHS public information and outreach activities such as publications, field trips, workshops and other education activities. Provide direction to staff whose work contributes to WGNHS’s outreach mission and manages the operations of the information and outreach office. The Outreach Manager has a hands-on outreach role by preparing and presenting written and web-based materials, including public speaking and teaching. This position provides input to WGNHS management activities and serves as a liaison between WGNHS and other Extension programs.
