For more information go to http://blink.ucsd.edu/go/cbuDESCRIPTION:In collaboration with the leadership of the Neuroscience Information Framework (NIF) project, under the supervision of the NIF Project Manager, supports the implementation of a large scale, multi-site neuroscience information gateway to serve the scientific community and collaborate on research-related efforts to demonstrate the value of a framework for knowledge discovery. Works with members of the NIF project across the country in developing policies and procedures to establish the NIF and to ensure its future growth and viability and will be specifically responsible for:* Creating & implementing standard operating manuals for data source integration procedures, including reporting on eligibility of and timeline for sharing of given datasets.* Ensuring that security protocols and related issues are in place and enforced.* Independently identify data entry, data quality, and integrity problems and work with NIF and data source site staff to resolve discrepancies.* High-level curation efforts to ensure data source integration follows established ontological structure & guidelines to enable on-going and future biomedical informatics research within the NIF.* Documenting and communicating to the scientific community how to best access the NIF.QUALIFICATIONS:* Theoretical knowledge in a field of clinical and/or laboratory biomedical research.* Knowledge of IRB and HIPAA policies regulating research data.* Clarity of vision regarding the goals of project to advance the utility of biomedical informatics and imaging research for basic and clinical applications.* Research knowledge of data for quality control, quality assurance, and general quality management.* Experience with research protocols in order to participate in the design, development, and quality assurance of research data.UCSD staff members enjoy a compensation package that far exceeds the value of their base salaries alone.
