Medical Billing and Coding Instructor Job Description Sanford Brown Institute, a nationwide dynamic educational services company committed to quality, career focused learning, is seeking a Medical Billing and Coding Instructor at our Dallas, TX location.Responsibilities: Instruct students in the following areas: ICD-9-CM, CPT-4 Coding, and Computerized Billing. Assist the Program Chair with implementing and directing activities concerned with program’s curriculum, retention, and industry related concerns. Responsible for managing clinical and didactic classroom functions. Will serve as a technical expert on program curriculum for faculty and students as per the direction of the Director of Education and Program Chair. Participate in administrative committees and reports. Participate in professional development activities. Adequately prepare all courses materials and lessons. Provide each student with clear course expectations, evaluations and timelines trough a carefully written and approved syllabus. Identify and refer at-risk students to specific academic support services. Work with each student through his/her learning process. Treat each student with value and respect. Attend regularly scheduled in-services and content or discipline-specific development activities. Adhere to and publicly support school policies and procedures.Requirements: Certificate from a post-secondary school and/or national certification preferred. Candidate should be a Certified Professional Coder or Biller A minimum of 6 years experience working with ICD9 and CPT codes in the health care administration/health insurance field. Bachelors Degree Preferred Teaching experience a plus but not required. Excellent interpersonal and oral presentation Superior written communication skills. Strong knowledge of Medical Terminology, Anatomy& Physiology, Health Insurance, and The Medisoft practice management system.
