Marketing Intern for the Curatorial Programs Department - Massachusetts College of Art and Design

Massachusetts College of Art and Design (MassArt) is the only independent public college of art and design in the country and the nation's first art school to grant a degree. With more than a century of leadership in its field, MassArt is at the forefront of art and design.

The college is looking for an energetic motivated individual to work as a Marketing Intern for the Curatorial Programs Department for Fall 2008. This is a great opportunity to learn in a multifaceted art environment.

The Curatorial Programs Department is comprised of the two professional galleries on campus. The Department showcases recent developments in art as a complement to the college's curriculum and the cultural environment through exhibitions, educational programs, research, and publications. The intern will help develop and implement the first major marketing initiative for the professional galleries.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinating and initiating marketing and development projects
- Gallery and lecture audience research (surveys, data entry, and analysis)
- Developing an e-marketing strategy for exhibitions and other events in the galleries, including a newsletter, promotion, and networking tools (facebook/flickr groups, etc.)
- Maintaining all components of the MassArt website that are related directly to the galleries and generating specialized content for online distribution
- Basic word processing, data entry, etc. as needed

Requirements:
- Commit to 15-20 hours a week
- Organized, reliable, enthusiastic, and independent
- Familiar with Microsoft Office and internet-based programs
- Preferably studying marketing or arts administration at the undergraduate or graduate level
- This is an unpaid internship
